Barbara is a pioneer in the Health and Fitness industry with many decades of experience. During her former years as a dancer in New York with Martha Graham, Jerome Robbins, and The American Ballet Theater, she embarked on her life long education of nutrition, the healing arts, and Pilates. She was very fortunate as a young dancer to work with Joseph Pilates at his studio in New York City.

Barbara was instrumental in helping to design and introduce the very first Low Impact Aerobics classes while working with Jane Fonda in the 1980’s. She has a degree in Psychology and Physiology; is a certified Pilates and Fitness Trainer, and has certifications in Wellness and Longevity, Behavioral Modification, Nutrition and Weight Management. She has studied the use of Yoga, Meditation and Breathing techniques as tools to reduce stress, increase health and the overall quality of life. Barbara worked as a Behavioral Modifications ;and Addictions therapist for 18 years and uses what she has learned in this field to help people modify destructive behavior patterns to increase the quality of their lives dramatically.

She specializes in working with people who want to reduce the impact of stress, health conditions and aging on their lives while achieving an increased understanding of what self care is related to increasing their levels of fitness, vitality, and well-being, while improving general health and longevity. Her philosophy is that Aging does not have to be a debilitating health condition that causes one to depend heavily on the medical profession and prescribed medications. Knowledge about self care, great nutrition, regular activity and stretching go a long way in keeping us vital, and healthy well into our aging process. We must work in partnership with our medical professionals if we are to age optimally, not go to them to fix the damage that we have been responsible to creating in our bodies. Many of us take better care of our cars then we do our own minds and bodies. She teaches people how to stop the black and white thinking about taking care of themselves, and still enjoy their lives, with lots of fun socializing.

Bloom Inside Out is based in northern California with many of its programs offered in the U.S. and abroad via telephone, Skype and group retreats. Personal, group or Corporate Programs are offered, as well as Public Speaking and Education.
